Pneumococcal immunisation
Prevention is better than cure!
Pneumonia is attributable to pneumococcal infection in 50 % of all cases.

Particularly at risk are:
  • The elderly
  • Persons with chronic conditions (e.g. cardiac disease, diabetes, asthma or chronic bronchitis)
  • Persons with compromised immune systems
  • Children
In these groups, pneumonia can be life-threatening.

How can I protect myself?

If you belong to one of these risk groups, it is advisable for you to be immunised against infection with pneumococcus!
