Insurance periods after 1 January 2005
The insurance periods acquired after 1 January 2005 by persons born on or after 1 January 1955 will be subject to the regulations of the Austrian General Pension Law (APG).
Insurance periods are the basis for your entitlement to a pension and determine your benefits.
Insurance periods are:
- Periods in which you make statutory contributions as a result of paid employment
- Periods of statutory contribution in which you are covered by partial insurance (e.g. during periods of unemployment, childcare, national service, community service
- Periods in which you pay voluntary contributions.
