The Smokers’ Hot Line
The aim of the Smokers’ Hot Line set up by the Austrian social security providers, the states and the Bundesministeriums für Gesundheit is to provide low level professional help to persons who wish to give up smoking.
This telephone counselling service is intended to help users find the support they need to give up smoking and thus to reduce the levels of smoking throughout Austria as a whole.
SV–Wissenschaft Forschung und Lehre der österreichischen Sozialversicherung
The purpose of the association “SV-Wissenschaft” is to establish and maintain a constructive and permanent relationship with science and research. It is essential that the social security organisations obtain interdisciplinary input so that they can conduct their activities in accordance with scientific principles. The association aims to contribute towards ensuring that appropriately qualified resources are available in terms of personnel and financial capacities. The purpose is to improve the image of social security as a whole through improved levels of collaboration, leading to the institutionalisation of relationships and the positive enhancement of its public profile.
“Therapie-Aktiv” is a health programme that has been established in Austria with the aim of providing chronically ill persons with more extensive support by doctors and to conduct research into such diseases.
This is a so-called disease management programme (DMP) designed to provide help and support to persons with chronic illnesses.
